Trust, Feedback & Compliments

No. of emails exchanged:

Things I came to know about Saumya:
  1. She likes train journeys.

  2. She doesn't trust her friends. She's had some really bad experiences with people she trusted, and they broke her trust. It's not easy for her to trust people.

  3. She is smart. Maybe I'm repeating this, but she's actually smart- the way she gave feedback on my work.

  4. She doesn't sugarcoat things. She says what she wants to say. That's a really good thing. :)

Special moments from this week:
  1. Her messages feel like she wants to continue the conversation. They are not just one-word replies, they are proper responses.

  2. She replied to one of my emails in just 7 minutes. Even I haven't replied that fast! I really want to improve that - I tend to reply very late. :(

  3. She complimented what I wrote about her again. Felt really good. :)

  4. Once she said “Content isn’t engaging enough” for Niharikaa’s website, maybe she was indirectly referring to the website I created and shared with her? I’m just guessing. :P

  5. She mentioned she has a gut feeling that I give her decent person vibes. I liked that. :)

Thoughts:

It was a really good week. She shared a lot about herself and gave me feedback on my work, which was genuinely valid. I have already started working on the redesign based on her feedback. It would be nice if she also joined this project, it would be a great experience to work on it together. :) Will ask her if she's interested in working on this together.

She mentioned she doesn’t want to initiate anything from her end. I didn’t quite understand what she meant by that, maybe I’ll ask her later.

Yes, there were some slightly awkward moments when I suggested we continue this relationship as work colleagues for now because I didn’t want to end things. I said that if things go well, we could explore something in the future. Maybe it was unnecessary to say. I’m not sure.

It feels like she genuinely trusts me and respects our conversation.

Yes, there were a few questions she completely ignored — like “How’s your day?”, “Do you like monsoon?”, and the “Work colleagues” part. Maybe there’s a reason behind that. Not sure.
